Within 35 days they underwent ecdysis five times. Development and growth of the larvae are here described. In the first instar, the larvae measured 1.70 mm in body length and at this stage, it closely resembled with Parribacus antarcticus. At the sixth instar, larvae reached 3.8 mm in length and showed following morphological features : metamerization of the first and second antenna, formation of an exopodite and endopodite of the fourth leg, appearance of the primodium of the fifth leg and the thorax which almost equaled the width of the head.
