Summary: | Foraminifera and calcareous nannofossil are widely used in the marine biostratigraphy study due to their rapid evolution and wide distribution. Through many years of studying Pliocene - Quaternary in the east of the Vietnam continental shelf via oil and gas exploration wells, the authors found that these two fossil groups were really effective tools for dividing details these sediments. Hóa thạch trùng lỗ (foraminifera) và tảo vôi (calcareous nannofossil) được sử dụng rộng rãi trong các nghiên cứu sinh địa tầng trầm tích biển do chúng tiến hóa nhanh và phân bố rộng. Qua nhiều năm nghiên cứu các trầm tích Pliocen - Đệ tứ ở phía đông thềm lục địa Việt Nam thông qua các giếng khoan thăm dò dầu khí, nhóm tác giả nhận thấy hai nhóm sinh vật trên thực sự là công cụ hiệu quả để phân chia chi tiết địa tầng các trầm tích này. Các giếng khoan A, B, C, D, E và F được chọn đại diện cho khu vực nghiên cứu. Áp dụng các tiêu chuẩn phân đới trùng lỗ.
