In the modern world there is an active formation of a new geopolitical area with its own regional policy, population and culture – the Arctic. The development of this territory by the leading countries of the world causes the gain of conflicts in this region. In the presented article the author examines the politics of Canada, US, Norway, Denmark and the Russian Federation in the context of the separation of issues related to the clash of interests in the region and to the identification of areas for further cooperation in the formation of a joint, balanced policy of international cooperation from the side of the leading countries in the world. In the article there is emphasized that the relevance of this issue is caused by global warming, which provides opportunities for energy production and the development of new transport routes and also the uncertainty of the legal status of the Arctic leads to strengthening of the conflicts in this region. These factors lead to encroachment of other countries and organizations on mastering of this area. Except the Arctic countries, including Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Canada, the USA, Norway, Denmark and Russia ambitions also demonstrate China and the EU. The Arctic today is a socio-economic, socio-cultural, ethnic and geopolitical space around the North Pole, acts as the object of management of the Arctic states and the subject of the regulation of international law. In the Arctic region, there are eight states - Russia, the USA, Canada, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland. InArchitect states, the territories of which directly adjoin the Arctic. Among them, Canada, the United States, Denmark, Norway and Russia play a leading role. In the modern Arctic, one of the most difficult geopolitical situations in the world is formed.
