Distribution and numbers of wolves Canis Lupus in Bulgaria: What is going on?

Pentru a identifica specificul dezvoltării lupului Canis lupus în Bulgaria, dinamica lui populaţională a fost monitorizată conform evidenţei oficiale a faunei cinegetice din întreaga ţară în perioada de primăvară 2002-2012. Se pare că populaţia europeană de lupi cu cea mai mare densitate este în Bulgaria. Conservarea şi prezenţa stabilă a lupului în ţară poate fi realizată în cazul în care acesta va fi acceptat ca specie normală a faunei de mamifere din Bulgaria. Acest lucru poate fi o condiţie prealabilă pentru acceptarea publică a prezenţei lupului la nivel social. In order to reveal the specificity of wolf Canis lupus development in Bulgaria, its population dynamics was tracked from the official results of spring game counts throughout the country during the period of 2002-2012. The European wolf population seems to occur with the highest density in Bulgaria. Preservation and stable presence of the wolf in the country could be achieved through perceiving it as a normal native species of the Bulgarian mammalian fauna. This may be a prerequisite for public acceptance of the wolf presence in the country at the socially acceptable level. Для выявления специфики развития волка Canis lupus в Болгарии, его популяционная динамика прослежена по официальным данным весенних пересчетов дичи по всей стране с 2002 по 2012 г. Похоже, что популяция европейского волка с самой высокой плотностьюнаходится в Болгарии. Сохранение и стабильное присутствие волка в стране возможно, если его станут принимать как нормальный вид болгарской фауны млекопитающих. Это может быть предпосылкой для общественного принятия присутствия волков на социально приемлемом уровне.
