| Summary: | Apodemus sylvaticus, A.uralensis, Mus spicilegus and Microtus arvalis are basic rodent species that populate agrocenoses in the Republic of Moldova. A particular danger for the crops is presented by Microtus arvalis whose number can raise, during the period of reproduction, dozens and even a hundred times, while the number of Apodemus sylvaticus, A.uralensis, Mus spicilegus species can increase several dozen times. There are some criteria according to which the estimation of the number of rodents is carried out at the end of winter ndash; the beginning of spring and during autumn: winter climate conditions, the period of the beginning of reproduction, the temperature and rainfall during autumn-summer period etc.
