Castillo’s Realty business was started by Michael A. Castillo in the 1940s. His family had immigrated from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico and they settled in East Chicago, Indiana in 1927. Castillo married Consuelo “Connie” Figueroa, an East Chicago native, in 1947 and the couple had two children. Their daughter Lydia L. Castillo later joined her father in the family business.
