Description
Summary:The present study was conducted to evaluate the effect of buffer treatments on ruminal physical parameters, clinical scoring, production parameters and blood gas parameters in subacute ruminal acidosis in dairy cattle. Rumen fluid examination was carried out by rumenocentesis and rumen fluid was examined for pH (physical and chemical parameters). Production parameters and rumen scores of SARA positive animals were also studied. Haemtobiochemical parameters of SARA positive animals were analyzed with blood gas analyzer. Additionally, SARA positive animals were treated with sodabicarbonate and combination of HSCAS (Hydrated sodium calcium aluminosilicates), sodium salt of carbonic acid + oxide of magnesium. The above studies suggested that combination of Hydrated Sodium Calcium Aluminosilicates and sodium salt of carbonic acid proves to be beneficial in the early restoration of rumen pH (physical and chemical parameters), rumen scores, milk yield, milk fat% and DMI than sodium bicarbonate alone. Heamatobiochemical parameters of SARA positive animals showed no significant change from 0 h (pre-treatment) and 96 h (Post- treatment).
