A dream in the literature of Romanticism

The article focuses on the works of the French writer of Romanticism Gerar de Narval. It analyzes writer’s attitude to dreams. The artists of Romanticism considered dreams to be something not serious. The French writer accepted the dreams as visions and messages of the other world (the beyond world). It is proved that in the literature of the romantic era there were three types of related artists to oneiric elements and their application in the works. The article also substantiates the view that the rapid surge in dream aspects of human consciousness in the first half of the nineteenth century was not accidental, because it was then, during the existence of the culture and art of the romantic era, that a corresponding surge was a logical response to changes in the surrounding reality.Key words: Romanticism, dream, oneiric space, «Chimeras», «Avrelia».
