昭和32年海鷹丸が南極探検航海中南極海域で実施したプランクトンネット採集によって採られた有殻翼足類を同定した.口径45cmのネット(特ネット)の垂直曳採集物については12地点分から7種，口径130cmのネット(ちネット)の水平曳採集物については21地点から4種同定された. 垂直曳きの方の優占種はLimacina bulimoides タワラナリウキマイマイで水平曳きの方のそれはLimacina helicina rangiミヂンウキマイマイ(南極型)で，Euclio sulcataナンキョクウキビシがこれに次いだ.
