Does Eicosapentenoic Acid Prevent Thrombosis and Atherosclerosis?

Eicosapentenoic acid, a fatty acid prevalent in the total plasma lipids in Eskimos when compared to that in Danes, forms the relatively inactive thromboxane A 3 and may account for the low incidence of coronary heart disease and increased bleeding tendency in the Eskimo population.
