An anionic chymotrypsin [EC 3.4.4.5] and a cationic proteolytic enzyme fraction in this crude proteolytic enzyme preparation were roughly separated by CM-Sephadex column chromatography. Cationic chymotrypsin and trypsin were obtained from the cationic proteolytic enzyme fraction by CM-cellulose column chromatography.
