Scale characteristics of the first sea zone from these fish and from tagged salmon ( N = 215), all caught at Greenland in 1986, were then analysed by discriminant analysis. The misclassification rate was 19.0% and error rates were ±1.0%. It is recommended that this database be used to classify salmon sampled from commercial catches taken at Greenland in 1986. Les auteurs traitent de l'utilisation combinée de deux techniques pour l'élaboration d'une base de données permettant de déterminer le continent d'origine des saumons atlantique ( Salmo salar L.) capturés au Groenland. La premièere, l'électrophorése des protéines, a servi à différencier les saumons d'origines nord-américaine eteuropéenne à partir des fréquences des allèles à sept locus de protéines. Les caractéristiques scalimétriques de la zone correspondant à la première année en mer de ces poissons et de saumons marqués (N: 215), tous capturés au Groenland en 1986, ont ensuite fait 1'objet d'une analyse par discriminants. Le taux de mauvaise répartition s'élevait à 19.0% et le taux d'erreur à ±1.0%. Les auteurs recommandent d'utiliser cette base de données pour la détermination de l'origine des saumons prélevés dans les prises commerciales réaliseés au Groenland en 1986.
