Summary: | The autumn food of 307 adult flounders, Platichthys stellatus , caught by commercial trawl at the northern limit of the flounder's range, is presented. Stomach contents include representatives of 9 phyla and at least 39 genera. The brittle star, Diamphiodia craterodmeta , and the protobranch clam, Yoldia hyperborea , are dominating foods. Major food items are different in each of the three sampling areas. No significant difference in feeding between sexes is apparent. |
