Capillary-column gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) of extracts showed the presence of organic sulfur compounds of dibenzothiophene and alkyl dibenzothiophenes (C 1 –C 3 ). The concentration factor of organic sulfur compounds in the oyster and mussel was determined by gas chromatography using a flame photometric detector.
