It is also, and perhaps primarily, an empirical study of the various manifestations of the concept of the Common Heritage of Mankind in the resource-management regimes of the deep seabed, the Moon, the Geostationary Orbit and Antarctica, and of the concept of "equitable use and allocation" in the resource-management regimes of common oil and natural gas deposits, fishery and international watercourses.
