Summary: | The objective of this study is to calculate the RSL height at the location of the Berkner Island ice core during the last glacial cycle using a viscoelastic earth model and several glacial histories. Earlier glacial cycles are not considered, the basic assumption being that the sediments were deposited during the last glacial cycle. However, to some extent the results can be extrapolated further back into the past. The results impose a constraint on the time of deposition of the sediments. Conversely, if the time of deposition is determined, e. g. by luminescence dating, this study provides a constraint on the glacial history of the Ronne Ice Shelf.
