Dale Andersen of Palmer-Pohlman Studio of Doraville (448 8400) preparing the 'world' for a sandblast session - the oceans will be sandblasted and the land masses will stay glossy. This is one of 2 globes in front of the Occidental Grand Hotel under construction -- see press kit for more info on hotel. Dale is working on Antartica -- hotel will open this Nov. 30 - For more info." Newspaper caption: "A different world view. Dale Andersen of Palmer-Pohlmann Studio in Doraville uses protective rubber tape to prepare for a sandblasting session that will turn a 3-ton granite ball into a globe. Sandblasting will leave the oceans rough, but the tape will keep land areas smooth. The ball is one of two that are part of a fountain outside the Occidental Grand Hotel, which will open Nov. 30 in the new GLG Grand Tower in Midtown." Date-stamped "Wed Oct 28 1992 J - C."
