Aire de répartition du campagnol-lemming boréal au Québec : mentions les plus nordiques

Dans le cadre d’une étude d’impact environnemental et social, un inventaire de micromammifères a été réalisé, en août 2014, à l’extrémité nordique de la péninsule d’Ungava, au Nunavik. Trois espèces ont été capturées à l’aide de pièges-trappes, soit le lemming d’Ungava (Discrostonyx hudsonius), le campagnol des champs (Microtus pennsylvanicus) et le campagnol-lemming boréal (Synaptomys borealis). Les spécimens de campagnol-lemming boréal représentent les mentions publiées les plus nordiques pour cette espèce au Québec. La précédente mention la plus septentrionale était située à 311 km de la mention la plus nordique de la présente étude. A small mammal survey was conducted in August 2014 at the northern tip of the Ungava Peninsula (Nunavik, Québec), as part of an environmental and social impact assessment. Three species of rodents were captured using snap traps: the Ungava collared lemming (Discrostonyx hudsonius), the meadow vole (Microtus pennsylvanicus), and the northern bog lemming (Synaptomys borealis). The northern bog lemming specimens represent the northernmost records for this species in Québec. The farthest north in the province that this species had previous been found was 311 km south of the most northerly occurrence reported in this study.
