Ce survol structurel offre une description de l'inuktitut en tant que langue polysynthé-tique et agglutinante. On signale les liens entre l'inuktitut et les autres familles de langues et on dresse la liste des langues et dialectes qui y sont rattachés. On décrit également les systèmes phonologiques et morphophonologiques de cette langue.
