Description
Summary:I am still in the process of locating and obtaining permission to examine archaeological materials from a number of different sites. All of the sites I hope to examine were excavated between 1960 and 1985. In addition, the faunal remains (i.e. bones) have all been identified and published. The various collections are curated in Madison, WI, Neah Bay, WA, Victoria, BC, and Unalaska, AK. Preliminary visits to Madison and Neah Bay will be made in March and I will visit Unalaska in April. The purpose of these trips will be to determine if the materials can be shipped to Seattle, or if I will have to return for a longer period of time for my analyses. Detailed analyses of the archaeological materials will begin in September of 1999, after a summer of archaeological field work on a site indirectly related to this research.
