What we do know indicates that arctic marine biomass may be extremely "fragile 11 even to minor pollution stress. Complicating this situation is the fact that issues such as arctic progress, preservation and sovernity are gaining increasing national importance. The Canadian Government as well as other governments who posses territory in the arctic must consider immediately undertaking a comprehensive study of the biological aspects of these unique waters.
