Summary: | International audience This presentation deals with the results of the study of passive constructions in Udihe (Manchu-Tungusic). In these constructions, the Agent is de-emphasized, the attention is transferred to the Patient. The Agent not overtly expressed may be impersonal or generic; if overtly expressed, it is encoded by the Dative. The overtly expressed Agent can be either a person, a natural phenomenon or an inanimate object. On the contrary, only an animate being (a person or an animate character of a tale) can be the Patient of the action. This makes it possible to consider these structures being adversive-passive, that is, structures of an "adverse impact". |
