The territory of the French Southern and Antarctic Lands (TAAF) is formed by the Adelie Land, the Scattered islands, the islands of Saint-Paul and Amsterdam, the archipelago of Crozet and the archipelago of Kerguelen, the last three being today classified in National Nature Reserve. The longline toothfish fishery is carried out in the exclusive economic zones (EEZs) of Crozet and Kerguelen. The target species for this fishery is only Patagonian toothfish (Dissostichus eleginoides), however, and despite the introduction of specific conservation measures and incentives, incidental species such as rays are also caught during the activity. The rays concerned are Bathyraja irrasa, Bathyraja eatonii and Bathyraja murrayi in Kerguelen and Amblyraja taaf in Crozet. Le territoire des Terres australes et antarctiques françaises (TAAF) est formé par la Terre Adélie, les îles Eparses, les îles de Saint-Paul et Amsterdam, l’archipel de Crozet et l’archipel de Kerguelen, les trois derniers étant aujourd’hui classés en Réserve naturelle nationale. La pêcherie palangrière à la légine se réalise dans les Zones économiques exclusives (ZEE) de Crozet et Kerguelen. L’espèce cible de cette pêche est uniquement la légine australe (Dissostichus eleginoides), néanmoins et malgré la mise en place de mesures de conservation spécifiques et des mesures incitatives, des espèces accessoires telles que les raies sont également capturées au cours de l’activité. Les raies concernées sont Bathyraja irrasa, Bathyraja eatonii et Bathyraja murrayi à Kerguelen et Amblyraja taaf à Crozet.
