I foråret 2007 blev der udført et projekt ved Center for Arktisk Teknologi, hvor formålet var at undersøge nyttiggørelsesmuligheder af affald fra fiskeri og fangst i Uummannaq Kommune. Undersøgelsen frembragte flere alternativer som blev vægtet i forhold til de specielle forhold i Uummannaq Kommune....
