Description
Summary:Measurements of rail-out radioactivity in the Faroes in 1370 are presented. Sr-90 (and Cs-137 in most instances) was determined in regularly collected samples of precipitation, grass, milk, lamb, fish, sea water, bread, and drinking water. In addition, analyses of spot samples of potatoes, sea plants, birds, whale meat, vegetables, eggs, and human bone were carried out. Estimates of the mean contents of Sr-90 and Cs-137 in the human diet in the Faroes in 1970 are given.
