Lightening the load will reduce the energy footprint in the expeditionary environment. The CEEMC is a Government-Off-The Shelf, two side expandable, rigid wall shelter integrated with Internal Appointment Modules: workbenches, shelves, drawers, and storage shelving. This design maximizes use of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf components. The 15-Man Arctic Tent replaces the current 1950s legacy 10-Man Arctic Tent. The tent is designed for maximum energy efficiency. The RFI was released 3rd Quarter FY 2011. The RFP release is TBD. The anticipated AAO is 2,324. We want to allow Marines to travel lighter -- with less -- and move faster through the reduction in size and amount of equipment and the dependence on bulk supplies, and to increase the energy efficiency of equipment. Current efforts include replacing the Modular General Purpose Tent System with a technologically improved and energy efficient shelter that protects Marines and their equipment from the elements in various expeditionary environments. We also have sent 1,350 LED light sets and 612 Radiant Barrier Liners to Camp Leatherneck to improve the Camp's energy efficiency. Presented at the 7th Bi-Annual DOD Joint Committee on Tactical Shelters (JOCOTAS) Meeting with Rigid & Soft Wall Shelter Industry & Indoor & Outdoor Exhibition held in Panama City Beach, FL on 1-3 November 2011.
