Summary: | The blast module of the Operational Requirement-based Casualty Assessment (ORCA) modeling system computer software package was reviewed and compared to the WRAIR blast injury model (INJURY). As a result, recommendations are presented in this report to improve ORCA by expanding it capabilities consistent with INJURY results and to expand the ORCA input-output capabilities. The recommended improvements include incorporating a newly developed ORCA mathematical lethality/injury blast effects model and its computer implementation, ORCA model changes, and expanded user interaction capabilities.
