This report describes the research activities carried out at NORSAR under contract F08650-01-C-0055 for the period 1 July-31 December 2001. In addition, it provides summary information on operation and maintenance (O&M) activities at the Norwegian National Data Center (NDC) during the same period. Research activities described in this report, as well as transmission of selected data to the United States NDC, are funded by the United States Department of Defense. The O&M activities, including operation of transmission links within Norway and to Vienna, Austria, are being funded jointly by the CTBTO/PTS and the Norwegian Government, with the understanding that the funding of IMS-related activities will gradually be transferred to the CTBTO/PTS. The O&M statistics presented in this report are included for the purpose of completeness, and in order to maintain consistency with earlier reporting practice. --Original contains color plates: All DTIC reproductions will be in black and white.
