Description
Summary:This summary describes the operation, maintenance and research activities at the Norwegian Seismic Array (NORSAR), the Norwegian Regional Seismic Array (NORESS) and the Arctic Regional Seismic Array (ARCESS). Statistics for the period 1 October 1990-31 March 1991. Statistics are also presented for additional seismic stations, which through cooperative agreements with institutions in the host countries provide continuous data to the NORSAR data Processing Center (NPDC). These stations comprise the Finish Experimental Seismic Array (FINESA), the German Experimental Seismic Array (GERESS), and two 3-component stations in Poland: Ksiaz and Stary Folwark. This report also presents statistics from operation of the Intelligent Monitoring System (IMS). The IMS has been operated in an experimental mode using NORESS and ARCESS data, and the performance has been very satisfactory.
