Description
Summary:This report presents environmental and ambient noise data obtained at APLIS 90, an ice camp established in the Beaufort Sea in spring 1990 to support Navy-sponsored tests and research during ICEX 1-90. The purpose of this report is to provide field data to ice camp participants; thus data analysis is limited. The data were collected to document the meteorological and oceanographic conditions that existed during camp activities, and to furnish insight into the underwater sound-speed structure and ambient noise during camp activities, and to furnish insight into the underwater sound-speed structure and ambient noise during acoustic experiments. The main data sets are weather, floe drift, CTD (Conductivity Temperature Depth) profiles, ice properties, and ambient noise.
