Fifteen archeological sites were recorded during the survey. Two sites were historic, 11 prehistoric and 2 contained both historic and prehistoric components. One site is located outside of the base perimeter, south of Arkansas Highway 151. This site is not considered significant and no further work is recommended. Previous work at Eaker documented the presence of additional prehistoric and historic sites on the base. The high density of late prehistoric and historic sites within the confines of Eaker Air Force Base displays an intensity of occupation and continuity of use of the alluvial environs of Pemiscot Bayou for the past 2000 years that is, significant. The cultural resources on the base should be nominated as a district to the National Register of Historic Places. It is recommended that all sites within the boundaries of Eaker Air Force Base, excluding 3MS105, be tested to determine the depth and extent of the cultural deposits present, and provide sufficient data to make this nomination.
