The Norton Sound area is defined as the area between 160 degrees 30 min W to 170 degrees W, and 63 degrees 00N to 65 degrees 30 min N. The oceanography section contains information for waves, circulation, tides, currents, bathymetry, ice conditions and storm surges in the Norton Sound. The meteorology section contains information on winds, climate, flying conditions, temperatures, air mass stability. Included is a forecast procedure for estimating the height of a storm surge. The ice section contains information on movement, character, growth and dissipation, and shearing and compressional forces. The climatology section includes information on wind and wind driven currents, temperatures, visibility and superstructure icing.
