Summary:Archeological and geomorphological studies were carried out by Western Illinois University in Farmdale and Fondulac reservoirs in Tazewell County, Illinois on an intermittent basis between April and July 1986. This fieldwork was supplemented by a comprehensive literature review and informant interviews. With the exception of those areas judged to be completely disturbed or tool heavily silted to yield archeological data both tracks were completely examined by pedestrian survey. Geomorphological studies were conducted with the aid of silt probes, bucket augers and backhoe trenches. Selected areas were plowed to facilitate archeological survey. Fifteen prehistoric archeological sites were located through plowing and by careful scrutiny of the forest floor. None were located in the deep testing. All of these sites seem to be attributable to the Archaic Period and to be potentially of National Register quality.
