Summary:The present volume of Arctic Bibliography summarizes and indexes 7123 publications making a total of 108723 books and papers abstracted since the beginning of the project. Most of the papers were published in 1968-71. Mineral exploration and development continued to be the most widespread and intensive interest in the North. Transportation was represented in the literature on air, and surface travel and freighting, and pipelines. Formation and growth of ice, its strength, impact on harbor installations, power stations, etc., were described. Health service, hospital facilities, and acclimatization problems continued to make up a significant part of the literature. The book is the final volume in this series in this format.
