Summary:Model investigations of the drawing in of slush and ice under the edge of an ice sheet are a component part of the study of ice-dam and ice-jam formation processes in rivers, as well as a stage in the experimental development of methods for the hydraulic regulation of slush and ice movements. By using this type of research, it is possible to determine the conditions governing the drifting of ice blocks of various lengths, widths and thicknesses under an ice sheet for flows having different hydraulic parameters.
