Summary: | The articles contained in the collection are devoted to the questions of engineering geocryology. Two types of articles are included: Thermal and mechanical interaction of mine working with surrounding rocks, and articles dealing with temperature stresses and strains in earth dams. The first group of reports is devoted to forecasting heat and mass exchange in mine workings having a refrigerating - storage purpose. The second set of articles is devoted to the slightly - studied question concerning temperature stresses and strains in earth dams and in a soil mass during winter. New data on the theoretical and laboratory studies and also on the full scale observations of the temperature deformations of frozen soils is included.
