Oceanographic Observations, North Atlantic Ocean Station BRAVO, 14 November 1967-16 November 1969

Observed and interpolated temperature and salinity data, plus computed sigma-t, geopotential anomalies, and sound velocities are presented for 663 oceanographic stations occupied by U.S. Coast Guard cutters at Ocean Station BRAVO (centered at 56deg30minN, 51deg00minW) from November 1967 to November...

Description
Summary:Observed and interpolated temperature and salinity data, plus computed sigma-t, geopotential anomalies, and sound velocities are presented for 663 oceanographic stations occupied by U.S. Coast Guard cutters at Ocean Station BRAVO (centered at 56deg30minN, 51deg00minW) from November 1967 to November 1969. Vertical distribution plots for temperature and salinity are presented as well as monthly averages of temperature and salinity for selected levels from January 1964 to November 1969. Unusually cold (2.2C) and fresh (34.3 parts per thousand by weight) surface waters present at BRAVO in 1968 and 1969 as compared to 1964 through 1967 (3.3C, 34.5 parts per thousand by weight) are discussed.
