The disturbances associated with lows in the Lofoten - Vesteralen area normally generate large, regular wave packets (beats) of double frequency (DF), 0.12-0.16 Hz, microseisms at Kongsberg. Meteorological disturbances in the British Isles - Iceland area often generate large PF microseisms and moderate, irregular DF microseisms. Occasionally the sea waves at the West Coast of Norway are sufficiently long period to generage PF microseisms.
