Ice observations were taken under twilight or moonlight conditions except southeast of Greenland. Adverse weather and/or illumination limited ice observing in certain areas. The ice edge in the Greenland Sea and Denmark Strait was located south of its normal position. Two isolated giant floes or possible ice islands were located northwest of Alaska. Ice Island T-3 was located at (85 deg 28 min) N, 120 degrees W.
