Ice observations contained in this report were made under either twilight or moonlight conditions. Large fractures were observed in the vicinity of the North Pole. A well-defined lead was observed northwest of Ellsmere Island. Severe ice conditions observed on BIRDS EYE 3-68 (21 May - 10 June) continued to exist in the southern Greenland Sea.
