The charts presented in this section of Publication No. 700 summarize the present knowledge of the ice conditions in the North Atlantic on the basis of all data available at the Naval Oceanographic Office at the time of compilation. Because of the varying number of observations, some regions are better described than others. In the absence of data, ice conditions were estimated.
