Summary:The author conducted independent investigations of algae in the region of Malyy Oleniy (Nemetskiy) Island in the Murmansk vicinity. This investigation established that algae grows along the coast of this island and continent and the width of the distribution belt of these algae reached 1-1.5 km along the northern coast of the island; whereas, on its southern coast and on the continent, this width varied from 1 to 50m.
