In the construction of the Volgograd Power Station, when intensive use was made of ice passages across the Volga River, a team of research engineers conducted a highly interesting study of the comparison of different methods of calculating the carrying capacity of ice cover. The use of the formula for the calculation of allowable loads was confirmed for accuracy on the Volgograd construction project. Trans. of Nauchno-Issledovatelskii Institut Lesnoi Promyshlennosti.
