Churchill, Manitoba, Canada operated under the sponsorship of the Canadian Research Council was selected as a launch site because of its close proximity to the magnetic North Pole. A discussion of the modifications to the VLF payload package will be found in Section 3.0 while Appendix C is an account of the field trip to the Churchill Research Range.
