Description
Summary:The paper is a continuance of the investigation of the dependence of the depth of the Icelandic atmospheric pressure minimum and of the pressure gradients 'Madeira minus Stiksholm' upon the wave of barometric 'polar flow'. This is created in the earth's atmosphere by free oscillations of the earth's axis of rotation. The investigations were based on the mean coordinates of the center of the Icelandic atmospheric pressure minimum, computed by R. V. Abramov from the analysis of the average monthly atmospheric pressure charts in the northern hemisphere for the period from 1891 to 1962. The mean latitude of the location of this center of atmospheric activity was compared with the projection of the actual location of the earth's pole of rotation upon the axis 0-180 (Xsum).
