The Ob' expedition organized by the Soviet Arctic Institute in 1956 to investigate the northern region of the Greenland Sea is reviewed. The complex investigation gathered and processed data on depth, sediments, biological composition, chemical and physical properties of water, including the movement of ice in the area.
