Systematic aerial reconnaissance must be employed to determine the size of the whale populations by areas and their migration routes. The number of white whales caught in the Soviet Northern Seas has increased from 21 to 1953 to 1333 in 1959. (Author) Trans. of Akaedmiya Nauk SSSR. Ikhtiologicheskaya Komissiya.
