Summary:The report presents a summary of previous investigations performed by others, to study the effect of admixtures on frost action, in the form of excerpts from the conclusions sustained by the reports of these investigations, the results of laboratory tests performed to determine the suitability of various admixtures and combinations of admixtures to prevent frost action in materials susceptible to frost action, and the results of laboratory tests to determine whether leaching of salts could be retarded or prevented by the addition of bituminous materials.
