THE EFFECT OF THE ICE-SEPARATION CURVE ON THE THAWING OF GROUND

In a solution of the problem concerning the thawing (melting) in finely-dispersed media, of considerable significance, in addition to the phase transformations of the free moisture, occurring momentarily at the mobile boundary of the phases' interface, is the consideration of the phase transiti...

However, the solution of the Stefan problem in this context becomes abruptly complicated, since within each zone, the differential equations become nonlinear (the coefficients of heat conduction and heat capacity depend on the temperature). In addition, it is necessary to take into account the continually distributed (through the space of the frozen ground) internal sources of heat, the intensity of which depends on the unknown function.
