THE WHITE SEA AND THE BIOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF ITS FLORA AND FAUNA (Beloe More i Biologicheskie Osobennosti ego Flory i Fauny)
The influence exercised by the continental runoff, winter fast ice, river ice, tide currents and wind waves on the action of tectonic forces is discussed. As a result, the changes of bottom relief and coastal contours of the White Sea and its gulfs are accelerated, which affect the faunal and floral...

The major factors affecting the biological characteristics of the White Sea are analyzed and compared with the situation existing in the Barents Sea, notably along the Murman coast.
